Re: Bilge shower Pump System
Is there a index listing for "Boat Owners ready to commit suicide"? Leaving for the Dry Tortugas and just checked to see if the shower drain pump was working. It runs but it doesn't drain. Water comes out of the housing. The thru hull valve is open. But where does the little piece of white...

Circuit Breakers
Sigh... Both my steaming and deck lights are out. I went up and no voltage. Next I check across the circuit breakers. In general when a breaker is off, the delta V is 12-13 volts. As soon as it is switched on, the voltage drops to zero. (seems reasonable since there is no "shut door" now t...

Re: where to store the main sheet halyard line
Oh. oops, Ken please do NOT cancel my membership just because I am an idiot!!!!! The main halyard is for my FURLING SAIL (sorry). It was coiled and hanging (dangling) on the mast cleat when I bought the boat. I will take a pic of the opening to show where it is. However, I THINK it is some type of a...

Re: where to store the main sheet hauler line
OOPS. I think I said it was a Selden mast, but it is a Charleston Spar.

where to store the main sheet hauler line
Hi. I have typically hung my main's line around the cleat on the mast. However, I noticed a rounded rectangle opening below the cleat that appears to be an opening for nothing? (sorry, maybe wasps). Is that to store the excess line after raising the sail? But now looking at Selden mast images, maybe...

Fantastic. So the impellers from the Sherwood won't work?

Re: Oberdorfer N202M-837 will pump cooling water but not A/F
Thanks. I didn't notice the A/F in the subject line. Have no idea what it stands for, maybe at full throttle? That is what CatalinaDirect said might happen. I saw another response that mentioned something about a Flush kit. Maybe that is the "F"?

Re: Oberdorfer N202M-837 cooling issue?
I have had it with Sherwood (in fact even Robin Hood says he is leaving the forest). Question looking at the one above, CatalinaDirect says it might cause the engine to run hot at hull speed temps. Has anyone seen this? Does the 350 gang agree on this make and model as a replacement.

Re: connecting an inverter with 3 batteries
Excellent. I too charge all three batteries at the same time with the one switch (on the left) to both and the right on (engine power) on. My solar controller has a secondary output to charge another battery and that is my emergency starter battery..,
Thanks.

Thanks.

Re: connecting an inverter with 3 batteries
THANKS. Yes I do have a standard alternator. So, 14.1 is fine since most of my battery charging is done with the panels giving them a little boost.

Re: connecting charging equip to 3 batteries
Thanks to all for the advice. Of course, now I want to expand this question. I have three new AGMs and they will all be connected in parallel. I will connect my solar output to the #1 and #3 batteries (14.4V Absorb). My wind gen would not charge them but simply help at night for the fridge/freezer s...

Ablative v. Hard paint bottom
Gulp. I am very scared about possible answers. My 2006 came with ablative paint and I have been redoing it every so often. However, it is impossible to clean without removing some of it. Since I don't sail enough, the cleaning said most of the paint gone!!. So, am I in trouble until I get her hauled...

Exhaust Hose length
Hi all. Quick question. Has anyone replaced the hose (2" diam) from the water muffler to the seacock? If so how many feet does it take? I am guessing around 10-12 feet???

Re: connecting an inverter with 3 batteries
Thanks Neighbor Brett. (Ft Myers is pretty close to Venice). Yeah, that is what I have been doing for charging as well. I just felt sorry for the middle battery having to "beg" energy from the charger (feeding 1 and 3) and then "lend" energy back to Numbers 1 and 3 for the invert...

Gosh, I can't believe Ken (maybe others, sorry) has done such a fantastic job with this site. Ken, if you need anything for your boat (lets not get carried away), let me (I mean "us") know and maybe Santa has been delayed at the Sarasota Airport on his return trip to the North Pole. Sorry,...

Re: Elevated moisture readings during survey
Hi. I guess I am the first one to say, "Yeah, so what else is new?" Mine HAD the same issues and I think others the same. The chain plate simply needs some silicon sealant to stop that and ditto around the mast base. I did it several years ago and no issues to date. ps. I LOVE my 350. I so...

Re: How far can we go?
A couple of years ago, my buddy and I sailed from Venice FL to Varadero Cuba. Nice trip, no problems with the Gulf Stream. However, now that Cuba is closed to pleasure vessels, we are planning on a trip to Isla Mujeres (Cancun). I was going to ask if anyone had done something similar, but if not, I ...
