mast padeye for whisker pole
I just acquired a whisker pole for those times when going downwind and need to keep the jib from flopping. I know the best option is to attach a track to the mast for the pole to ride and to store it there. That happens to be a bit dear at this time, so I want to use a padeye while I save my many th...

Re: Fridge Door Seal
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but the seal on the side door gets mangled when closing it and then doesn't seal anymore. The side nearest the hinge is what gets mangled. It seems the adhesive isn't enough to keep it securely attached, then it twists up and doesn't sit right, getting p...

Re: cabin door locksets?
I have a 2006 C350 and the forepeak cabin door lockset is non-functional. The handles just hang down and the latch never protrudes through the strike plate. has anyone replaced, or fixed, one of these? Where would I find one, other than Catalina? Thanks, I found the locksets last year at FP Marine,...

I'm assuming that the pitch shown in the picture is not the way in went into the water? That is the feathered position? Please clarify. ----------------- I know there has been plenty of discussion about the Kiwi prop in past postings, but I have just fitted one and have problems and wonder if anyone...

anchor light cover
I was up the mast this weekend but couldn't figure out how to remove the anchor light cover/diffuser lens to get at the bulb. There is no fastener or screw visible, does the whole thing just unscrew? I thought it might but wanted to check before I forced it.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: fresh water pump leak
Did some research, Here's the engine: Kubota Engine D1005-E3B (3600rpm) Though this is the 3 cylinder model, it seems to use the same pump. Pump part #: 16241-73034 Here's a picture, with a 360 degree view option: http://www.messicks.com/partdetail/16241-73034.aspx And here's the best price I cold f...

I also have an '06, and I actually carefully measured the consumption last year over several hundreds of miles. We got 0.7 gph at 2000-2200 rpm, with no headwinds.

Re: fresh water pump leak
Does anyone know the make/model of the pump? Defender has a few replacements that look like they may work; just trying to avoid $400 cost.

Thanks for the reply Brett. I have some Marelube, which seems like it should work too. Since I'm doing it each season...I'll let you know if it doesn't.

Thanks Gary(I may be incorrectly assuming you're not Janet?). That's good info; I'm a firm believer in having too much info, then weeding as needed for the situation. That's not the case on this subject. Yet.

fresh water pump leak
It looks as though the fresh water pump mounting gasket is leaking. Has anyone got the part # for a replacement, or what brand the pump is?
Also, I'm assuming our heat exchanger is in the 3" diameter range, so I can service it at the same time with a cleanout and new gasket.
Thanks in advance.

turnbuckle anti seize?
I was told by the PO, also a pro rigger, that the turnbuckles should be loosened and lubed each season to prevent seizing. Does anyone do this? And if so, what lube is used?
Thanks,

Which battery is the bilge pump hooked up to?
I'm thinking it's battery 1, and that it's hooked up to battery 1 even when the battery switch is in the off position. Which means to me, that I could hook up my solar controller to the battery switch common and it would always be connected to a battery, even in the switch off position. Am I wrong? ...

Wiring solar panels/charge controller.
I've gotten 2 different opinions from tech help at the controller manufacturers. I have 2 x 200AH batteries, with one on the #1 and the other on the #2, of my OFF-1-2-BOTH battery switch. One guy told me to wire the output of the controller to the common and that I can leave it on BOTH to charge bot...

Re: Has anyone changed the filter screen on the fresh water
You are talking about catching any debris that is coming from your water tanks .... I'd say that once you get the initial debris out from the installation at the factory (drilling holes) you shouldn't have anything else in there. After the inital cleaning, I would think it would remain clean. ? TRI...

Re: Fuel guage
i followed the troubleshooting steps above, as I also had a perpetually full tank. The problem was that everything tested good, gauge, wiring, sender, according to the guide. I did a resistance reading on the fuel gauge, and found a higher than expected resistance, not mentioned in the above steps. ...

Re: Salon Table into Double Berth
Along with the short legs you need to get the fold away bench & the cushion for the table top. The bench does double duty as a seat for the on board side of the large table top. Bb Does anyone have pictures they can share of what it looks like as a berth. I would love to see it and gauge the wo...

I recently purchased the short legs, but there is more needed for the conversion. What goes at the forward end, and where do the cushions come from?
Please look at the pictures and help me puzzle it out.

Has anyone changed the filter screen on the fresh water pump
I'm talking about the one under the galley sink that's attached to the Shurflo pump. The one I have is an inline, which is a pain to clean. I want to put in the bowl type that can easily have the screen removed for cleaning. I need the part number of it, if anyone's replaced it.
Thanks,
