Re: Iced Copper Line to Alder Barber Compressor
Sounds like an over charge of R134A. You might try a 10 second bleed from the fill valve on the return (low pressure side, the same line that has the frost) under the Plastic cap It has a Shrader valve that you press in (like on a car ) My guess is the liquid has not fully changed to a gas inside th...

Re: Exhuast Elbow
If you have the M35B engine I think the part you need is #200488 Check out transpacificdist.com about @$180.00. Double check with your engine.
It was easy to install if you replace the hose at the same time. About 1 hour and about two grunts to remove the hose from the water lift.

Re: Stern Light
Ken,
I have replaced my stern light with HELLA 003562015 '3562 Series' 12V DC 2 NM Stern Navigation Light with Black Hou #2LT 003.662-015 it was the exact replacement for my boat. Look for them on e-bay or amazon for about $20.

Re: Interior Teak Repair
Dave, You can mechanically or chemically remove the old finish then: I have used a water based "polycrilic" helmsman coating I found at the Home Depot or the SW paint store. I used a 6" foam floor applicator for the table and the bulkheads, and 1"/2" foam brushes, spreading ...

Re: Raw Water Impeller Change
Russ, The factory sent a retrofit kit to owners several years ago to provide venting of the shaft seal and positive water flow to the shaft seal. This kit has a vented loop located on the bulkhead above the forward engine hatch. I have found that this vent should be cleaned and lubricated with silic...

Re: New owner of hull 358
Welcome to the C350 owners group in the north C.B. If you have the same AC unit as Hull #155, I think you can adjust the AC fan to run continually at various speeds or only when the AC compressor is running. I have the owners manual if you don't have one. My boat is located on the Sassafras River no...

Re: Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak
Just finished installing a new PSS bellows, cutlass and new shaft. (One person) I removed the old shaft from the coupling with a slide hammer screwed directly to the end of the shaft where the prop nut would be. I braced the flange to the rear platform of the muffler with oak and loosened the flange...

Re: Removing Coupling From Shaft
Some insight on the shaft/PSS Bellows/cutlass replacement. I just finished replacing the cutlass bearing, the PSS shaft bellows and shaft. I removed the shaft from the rear coupling by: Removing the ss wire and lock bolts added lots of penetrating oil on the key way and down the screw holes. I used ...

Re: Fuel Sending Unit
Great observations. It seems to me that the sending unit is a linear device working in a non linear environment ( shape of the tank and angle of boat) Our expectations might be bases on our car gauges and tanks, which are relatively linear. I have used my fuel gauge as a relative guide to remind me ...

Ken, Welcome to the group. I noticed that also and further, the primary winches in the cockpit have the same arrangement. I checked with the dealer and he with the factory and they said the mounting plates are indeed in the deck , hence no nuts and or backing plates to see. Hope this helps you get t...

Re: Damper Replacement
Hans, the 33 degrees of deflection is enough to absorb the torsional variations of the engine at low speed. (I think this is caused in part by a light weight flywheel). The original damper plate did not have enough deflection and therefore transmitted energy to the transmission which caused the tran...

Re: Foot switch power
Barbara, If your electric head is the OEM WC Newport/Thetford then: The Micro Switches are located behind the Foot Pedal Cover. The Wiring Harness is located under the Plastic Base. Check for loose wires around the switches. You can find replacement switches on the WEB. Look for a part number and or...

Re: Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak
Russ, Thanks for the clarification. My hopes are dashed about adding a flex shaft coupling and moving the prop aft this way. I went to the local Catalina dealer and looked at a new boat with the same hull configuration as ours.On this boat, the prop is about 2" aft of the end of the cutlass bea...

Re: Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak
Russ and all, Just got back from sailboat show and met with Fred Hutchison of PYI. He said that they make only one size PSS bellows for our shaft seal. It is around 6" long and not 4.5". He can supply replacement bellows but only of the one larger size he makes. If you have a bellows that ...

Russ, Can you tell me the part number for the PSS shaft seal you used. I want to install a flex coupling between the flanges but do not have enough room because the bellows is two long.Your shorter bellows might be the ticket! This I hope will move the prop further aft away from the dead wood hopefu...

After installation the rattle was still present. Then commenced the testing and discovery of the high deflection damp...

Glad you got the ST-60 back alive.
Do you have more details on the transistors and circuit diagram you used to find the problem.

Re: macerator for wilcox crittenden head
The motor control switch allows the motor to rotate in two directions. The impeller has an internal clutch that allows the impeller to not spin in one direction (to dry the bowl) and spin in the other direction ( to pump water and discharge bowl contents) The macerator/discharge pump will work in ei...

If you tach is the same one I have with the M35B engine, I have found that the rotary switch (A,B,C,D) on the back of the tach. and or the trimmer pot (screwdriver slot on the rear of the tach) some times they get dirty and require some movement to clean the internal contacts. I assume that all the ...
