Re: Exhuast Elbow
I had my exhaust Elbow replaced last year. Mandy is 2004 hull 235. I went to a talk at one of the local yacht clubs and they had examples of the build up in the elbow, It can clog as much as 50% over a period of 10 to 12 years. It was recommended checking it out and replacing it needed. Another Cata...

Re: Head Shower Hose Leak
There is an easier way to replace your hose and showerhead. The hose and head are metric. I had the same problem and went to big marine chain store and they had no clue what I was talking about. I even tried a plumbing supply store and they did not carry metric shower parts. Finally I went to an est...

Re: De-lamination of veneer on forward bulkhead wall in salo
I had the same problem as all who had de-lamination problems. I have read all the comments and the person who works on my boat said the best solution was to carefully remove the entire panel then glue it back on whit better contact cement. We found any other method would not allow us to get an even ...

Re: De-lamination of veneer on forward bulkhead wall in salo
It seems to be a problem for most of us. There is a person at the marina who does work on my boat and we looked at all the alternative methods to repair it. Best solution was to carefully remove the panel and use a better adhesive to replace it. By just cluing the edge you have not resolve the probl...

Re: anchor light cover
I need to replace some bulb on my mast but couldn't make the bulb type and number. I looked through the manual and could not find a reference. Anyone have the information? I can't climb the mast but I had someone from the marina up and they had a guess from a light chart what it might be.

Re: removable bench seat behind wheel?
The diagonal cut outs are so you can hook the seat to the rail outboard keeping it out of the way when using the swim platform. You should also have a slat that fits under the seat to stop items that fall on the deck from rolling overboard, like small children and pets.

Re: Folding wheel
The previous owner of my boat installed a folding wheel and I am changing back to the old one. The wheel after awhile seems to get loose and difficult to tighten. I just don't like the feel. One person I know bought a wheel hub that attached to the outside of the rail and he simply takes the wheel o...

Re: 2004 350 Cockpit enclosure
My Bimini is a bit taller than the one you have with a piece that joins the dodger. When I had to replace the Bimini I talked to a few canvas people and found none helpful. I bought my 350 without the Bimini since it was shredded by the previous owner. A friend said I should call Catalina. They were...

Re: Problems unfurling the Main
I have the same problem and use a dry lubricant often. One solution given is to replace the car with a car that has roller bearings making it easier to roll back. I have kept to the cheaper method of using the lubricant. Most times when the sail stops coming out I just climb up and yank it out then ...

Re: Winterizing
I use the standard pink stuff for the water system but a friend of mine goes out and buys the cheapest vodka he can find and uses that to winterize his water system, I have not had the courage to try it but it seems to work for him here in NJ. No pink stuff to worry about when draining it in the spr...

Re: Prop type i should have
Hi, Thanks to all of you for your comments. I do have the 14" prop on my boat Mandy but wanted to be sure it was the right one since I also have the 15' prop in my storage locker. I do get some cavitation at times but I think this is due more to increasing the RPMs when I am trying to fight a b...

Prop type i should have
I have a 2004 350 and two different props. The boat currently has a 14 in prop but when I bought the boat the owner said that the original boat came with a 15 in prop which is in my storage compartment but it wasn't very good so they sent out new 14 in props. Reading the other posts I am trying to f...

Re: sail Jamming in mast due to burs
I want to thank all of you with the suggestions and they have been a great starting point for me. The problem turned out to be the collar that hoists the sail up. Although it seemed to spin without the sail up once the load from the sail was on it, the bearings would jam up. Charleston Spar and mast...

sail Jamming in mast due to burs
This year while hoisting our sail, we had problems with the sail jamming and getting stuck inside the mast half way furling it, and then we couldn’t get the sail out once it was jammed. Climbing the mast we noticed that there were some metal burs on the inside rod that seemed to jam the collar preve...

Rubber ignition Key cap
This may seem like a small item and maybe I may have missed something. The rubber cap that goes over my ignition key slot has fallen apart. I have checked various marine stores and no one seems to have one. Any ideas on where I can get one without having to replace the entire switch?
