I didn’t quite answer your question. What is your antenna connected to? Chart plotter? Radio? Discrete GPS?
If you have the manual, they may have a part number for the GPS. You might find a manual online as well. Just save yourself some headaches and don’t put it on the top of the mast.

Re: 2005 C350 GPS Antenna Replacement
Keep in mind the GPS satellites is 10,900 miles above you. Saving 55 feet in distance doesn’t buy you anything. I mounted my antenna just above the Bimini. On my previous C28, I surface mounted it on the rear coming and never had an issue. I’ve seen several mounted to the stern rail. Mount the anten...

I put mine under the port lazarette locker. I access it through the outside port hatch. I also mounted the autopilot box there.

Re: Calcium Deposits in Holding Tank?
You could use muriatic acid (aka hydrchloric). I’d cut it by 50% first,. Always add acid to water, not the other way around. Let it sit for a while and then top off with water. To protect the environment, go to a pump out station. What you’re pumping out is chlorinated water.. maybe a little stronge...

Re: Tracing wiring from alternator to battery
How Are you measuring the output at the alternator? 13 volt output sounds low. As was mentioned, the stock alternator is a 55 amp Mando or Prestolite and uses a AWG 10 wire from the alternator to the starter. The wire from the starter to the battery bank is a 1/0 or 2/0...not sure. Does the starter...

If so you have a good connection from the starter to the battery bank. I would then check continuity from the alternator output to th...

Re: mast padeye for whisker pole
No issues. Just keep the length of the bolt close to the thickness of the mast wall so it doesn’t interfere with lines/wires inside. Drill and tap using machine screws and Locktite. I don’t recommend metal screws.

Re: Replacement 4d batteries and charger?
I replaced my two 4d's with four 6 volt Trojan golf cart batteries. They are designed for abuse. I’m in Michigan and leave them on the boat (stored outside during the winter. I do have 290 watts of solar panels so they don’t freeze even in sub zero temps. I check things twice a winter and top off th...

We have two 350's here on White Lake in Michigan as well as a 355. We are planning on Cruising the North Channel this summer for the GLCC rendezvous.

I would use consider New England Sta Set. You’re only using the line to furl so moderate stretch isn’t an issue.

Re: Solar panel selection
I have 3solar panels — All Kyocera. Two 60’s mounted on the dinghy mounted on a single bar above the Bimini. They stay on the boat in the winter. All the panels tip fore and aft and can keep the batteries charged in the winter. I also use a Morningstar controller for the panels and generate a peak o...
