Re: posting to the appropriate section

Jack,

I agree COMPLETELY! Come on folks. Let's use the categories. If you think we need a new category, send me an email and I will add it.

Same here.

My chains have suffered the same problem, and it does worry you that one of your caps is going to go over the side. I'll ask my dealer and let you know what he says. Gerry Douglas, the 350's designer, is on my dock. I'll ask him too the next time I see him.

In response to Hans Grasman’s query on the 350 Association forum, I am responding here because I have forgotten my user name and password. Same problem.

I had the same problem. It didn't get fixed until I had soemone working on another electrical problem. It was kind of aggravating. That ought to be a no brainer quality control issue.

Folding Bench

Mike, I used a couple of short screws to fasten two little .5" plastic cups (kind of like bottle caps) down low and near the edge of the legs opposite the hinges. I then put a spring loaded curtain rod in the cups and expanded it to hold the legs in the open position. To add a little extra safe...

Communication from Gerry Douglas regarding propellers.

The following address the prop/ cavitation issue on the 350. Would you please make this available on the web and in the MAINSHEET? Please contact me should you have questions. There have been some owners concerned about noise and or vibration from the prop. The degree of the noise/vibrating seems to...

Air pollution does make it worse

R. B.,

I agree. We're in Marina del Rey, CA right near LAX. Those jets going over all the time are contribuitng to my streaks, I'm sure.

Shrink the file size of your avatar

Tim, In addition to reducing the image size of your avatar, you need to reduce the pixels (dots) per inch or resolution. Check the Help pages of your image software and find out how to do that, then save the image with reduced resolution. Some programs also have a "Save for Web" option. Th...

Wiring diagram would be appreciated.

Triumph,

Would love to get a wiring diagram or photos of how you did your dedicated starter battery. Sounds like just what I want to do on Wind*Rose. I just don't have any physicists to help me.

This looks great, Jack! You have motivated me to do the same later this evening. I allowed avatars, but really didn't tell anyone about them. You're the first.

Printing articles

Hans, Look for the resize/grow handle a the bottom right hand corner of your browser window. Click and drag to the left until the window shrinks the message frame to the point that if you shrank it anymore, your browser begins to cover/conceal it. At that size, it should print nicely on an 8. 5 X 11...

We have hung several pictures and trays on the bulkheads of Wind * Rose with Velcro. Haven't had anything fall off yet including the time we came back from Catalina in gale force winds and high seas. Adding Insulation?

Has any one added insulation foam? How did you do it, and what products did you use? Pictures would be great.

I've done the extra battery operated fan and 1 quart plastic bottles filled with water in the freezer. I still do not get good performance when I'm off shore power.

Hints and Tips

Jack

I am playing around with a simple database into which the old hints and tips and new ones might be placed. If I nail it down a little better, I may call on you for your help. I'm trying to get the winterization ones up before the end of the weekend. Some people might be able to use them.

Winterization Hints & Tips

There were some excellent hints and tips on winterizationn on our previous site. I am in the process of moving those files to our new hosting service. I will give the winterization section priority. I'll try to get them up before the weekend.
